Installing/Updating the Plex Media Server on Linux may not seem as straightforward as on Windows systems, but actually it’s pretty simple. All you need to do is download the latest
.deb package and install it.
dpkg will recognize that this version is newer and install it over the old one. You can always get the link to the latest version on the official site.
cd /tmp wget https://downloads.plex.tv/plex-media-server/x.x.xx.x.x-xxxxxxx/plexmediaserver_x.x.xx.x.x-xxxxxxx_amd64.deb sudo dpkg -i plexmediaserver_x.x.xx.x.x-xxxxxxx_amd64.deb
