Uninstall OneDrive

OneDrive comes preinstalled with Windows 10, but I prefer using Google Drive for my private stuff, so I uninstalled it on systems where I definitively don’t need it, as my gaming PC. To uninstall OneDrive, fire up a a command prompt or PowerShell window as administrator.

Important Notice:

In current Windows Versions (as of August 2020, Windows 1909), OneDrive can simply be uninstalled via the Control Panel.

First you need to make sure the process is killed:

taskkill /f /im OneDrive.exe

Then run one of the following commands, depending if you run a 32-bit or a 64-bit system:


%SystemRoot%\System32\OneDriveSetup.exe /uninstall


%SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\OneDriveSetup.exe /uninstall

To reinstall it again, run one of these commands:
